Maple Cottage B&B

Beautifully presented, modern detached house in centre of the village of Gullane on the picturesque East Lothian coast.

Situated on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth, Maple Cottage B&B is perfect for golfers with numerous courses nearby. Your host Heather is happy to offer advice and help with booking. You can also discover quaint villages, marvellous sandy beaches, coastal walks and local wildlife including seabirds - all just 20 miles from Edinburgh.

Maple Cottage B&B has 4 bedrooms which can be made up as either a kingsize double or 2 twin beds. Each bedroom has a flat-screen TV with Freeview channels, free WiFi and its own ensuite bathroom with a large shower and free toiletries. Two bedrooms are on ground floor and two larger rooms are on the first floor. One of the upstairs rooms can accommodate a roll away bed to sleep a third person. Children over 8 are welcome.

A hearty breakfast is served daily using fresh, local produce. Guests can also use the Nespresso coffee machine and enjoy a supply of tasty snacks including some of Heather's home baking.  You are welcome to relax in the lounge and the outside sitting area in the garden. Private parking is available and there are electric vehicle charging points next door in the village hall car park.
Please note the B&B is home to a friendly little cocker spaniel called Bailey, so unfortunately no guest pets are allowed.

Gullane is just 5 miles from North Berwick with its picturesque harbour, sandy beaches and Scottish Seabird Centre. From here you can take a boat trip to the magnificent Bass Rock to see the seabird colonies.
Dirleton is another pretty local village which is worth a visit to explore the 13th century remains of Dirleton Castle (Historic Scotland) and nearby Yellowcraigs beach which overlooks the basalt island of Fidra.
Other places to visit include the Myreton Motor Museum near Aberlady, Scotland's National Museum of Flight at East Fortune, Belhaven Brewery, Glenkinchie Distillery, Cockenzie House and Gardens, Lennoxlove House, Newhailes House & Gardens, Tantallon Castle, Preston Mill & Phantassie Doocot, the Battle of Prestonpans Jacobite Museum and Musselburgh Museum.
Local events in the area include Fringe by the Sea in North Berwick (late July - August), the Lammermuir Festival for classical music every September and the East Lothian Walking Festival.

Conveniently situated in the heart of Gullane village, Maple Cottage B&B is less than 2 minutes' walk from shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and amenities, as well as the local tennis courts and bowling green.
