Newton Farm Holidays & Tours is the perfect base for exploring Angus. Sophie Thompson stayed there and put together this 3-day itinerary to inspire your adventures around Angus. This 4 Star GOLD Bed and Breakfast offers a spacious ensuite room for up to 4 people - perfect for families. Pets are welcome too!

Day 1

  • Taste of Angus Breakfast at Newton Farm Holidays & Tours
  • Tour of world famous Glamis Castle and Gardens.

  • Lunch or afternoon tea at The Victorian Kitchen Restaurant at Glamis Castle.
  • Adults only - Visit Ogilvy Vodka - Scotland’s first Potato Vodka producer. Experience the field to bottle process with a Tour of the distillery and farm then head back to the steading for a tasting experience.
  • Or if gin is more your thing, then pay a visit to The Gin Bothy Experience near Glamis where you can learn about the process and sample those unique tastings!
  • Escape to the countryside to Farm Tour at Newton Farm Holidays & Tours. Enjoy an award-winning farm tour where you get to meet and feed all the animals. Pre-booking is recommended. Adults will enjoy it just as much as the kids!

  • Head to Carrot Hill for an evening stroll to take in the magnificent panoramic views of rural Angus and beyond.

Day 2

  • Taste of Angus Breakfast at Newton Farm Holidays & Tours.
  • Visit Monikie Country Park, a scenic park with vast green spaces and lochs to explore. Fancy something a bit more adventurous? Take to the water and have a go at paddleboarding, kayaking or sailing!

  • Enjoy a coffee & cake stop or light lunch at Sweet Nix Coffee & Cake Shop which is just a 2-minute drive or 5 minutes walk from Monikie Country Park.
  • Balhungie Berry Farm between Monikie Country Park and Monifieth is a small family run business with a farm shop selling their own freshly picked soft fruit, as well as other tasty local treats and 'made on our farm' bath and body products.
  • Dinner at Armstrongs Bar & Restaurant near Glamis.

Day 3

  • Taste of Angus Breakfast at Newton Farm Holidays & Tours

  • Crombie Country Park beautiful circular route which takes you through the forest whilst taking in the beautiful loch. A perfect place to watch wildlife.

  • Lunch at The Corn Kist Coffee House at Milton Haugh.
  • Stop off at Mill of Inverarity Farm Shop to get some delicious gifts to take home for loved ones. In addition to local meat, free range eggs. fresh fruit and veg, they stock cards, chocolates, biscuits, cakes and lots of foodie items.
  • Dinner at Café Byzantium which is a Mediterranean restaurant situated in the beautiful Monikie Country park.
