Coig na Shee Guest House

4 Star B&B in a 1903 Highland lodge in Newtonmore, within the Cairngorms National Park.

Set in mature grounds on the edge of the village, Coig na Shee offers stylish ensuite rooms and warm hospitality in a peaceful, relaxed setting.

Guests have a choice of twin or kingsize double bedrooms overlooking the gardens, and some rooms have a bath tub as well as a walk in shower. All rooms have their own ensuite bathroom with Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries and bathrobes, as well as TV, DVD player and free WiFi. Children over 8 are welcome.
A full Scottish breakfast is served in the breakfast room overlooking the garden or you can enjoy a daily 'special' such as kippers or blueberry pancakes and maple syrup. Breakfast times are staggered and tables allow for social distancing in these Covid times. Evening meals are homecooked for groups of 4 people or more. Packed lunches can be provided on request. There is a sitting area in the breakfast room, where you can sit and have a dram in the evening, or peruse the selection of maps and guidebooks to plan your next day. Guests can relax in the large garden or take an evening walk from the back garden gate.
As well as being members of Scotland's Best B&Bs, Coig na Shee is also listed as one of 'Scotland's Great Guest Houses' in 'Scotland the Best' by Peter Irvine.

Coig na Shee is ideally situated for touring the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Highlands, Cairngorms National Park and Speyside. Aviemore is just 16 miles away, with Inverness 45 miles to the north and Fort William 45 miles to the west. This area is full of opportunities for wildlife spotting, walking, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, golf, horse riding and watersports. The house is on Sustrans Route 7 for cyclists, and is also on The East Highland Way (a walking trail which stretches 82 miles from Fort William to Aviemore, and connects the West Highland Way to the Speyside Way).
The Highland Wildlife Park is a popular place to visit where you can see animals such as monkeys, tigers, red pandas and snow leopards. You can also see the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd at nearby Glenmore. Historic attractions in Newtonmore include the Highland Folk Museum and the Clan MacPherson Museum. Within a short drive you can visit Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns (Outlander connections), and castles such as Cawdor, Brodie, Ballindalloch and Urquhart. There are plenty of whisky distilleries within a short drive including Dalwhinnie and Tomatin. The Strathspey Steam Railway is also good for a day out.
