On the beautiful south side of Loch Ness, the village of Dores is well known for its beach which offers some of the most iconic and dramatic views of Loch Ness. The famous Dores Inn serves food all day and drinks by the Loch side.
Pottery House is a traditional style B&B and yet because the house was built for bed and breakfast in 2001, it has 3 spacious rooms with luxury en suites. In addition to the stylish bedrooms, guests can enjoy delicious breakfasts, including freshly baked home made rolls every morning, jams and preserves (home made using home grown fruit), sausages, bacon from a proper family butcher (Cockburns of Dingwall) as well as their award-winning haggis.
With Loch Ness at the end of the driveway, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the loch with various boat trips nearby, as well as the famous Loch Ness exhibition centre and historic Urquhart Castle. Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns (Outlander connections), the Caledonian Canal, Glen Affric nature reserve and dolphin watching on the Black isle are a short drive away.
The central location means much of the Highlands are just a day trip away, such as the Cairngorm National Park, Glen Affric The Black Isle, Ben Nevis and the West coast.
