Newton of Fothringham Farm lies only 2 miles off the A90 between Dundee and Forfar in the scenic Angus countryside. The magical Glamis Castle and the Angus Glens are a short distance away as well as several famous championship golf courses, including Carnoustie.

Experience life on an authentic working family farm which offers B&B accommodation and farm tours. A nature trail is available and there are many opportunities to see all the animals. The accommodation comprises a large ground floor bedroom with ensuite shower which can sleep up to 4 people as single, double, twin or family occupancy with 1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed. Decorated in a relaxed country style, the room affords panoramic views across the farm towards Carrot hill to the South. Amenities include Scottish handmade organic toiletries, blackout blinds, TV, DVD, radio alarm clock, ipod dock, ironing facilities, hairdryer, trouser press and comfortable seating. Wheelchair access throughout. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. The farm also has a 3-bedroom cottage which is sometimes available for larger groups on a bed & breakfast basis. 

A 'Taste of Angus Breakfast' is served in the farmhouse dining room with eggs from the farm and meat from local suppliers. Taste Our Best award. If you don't wish to eat out in the evening, a fridge and microwave are available in the dining room for guest use.    
Your hosts Graeme and Louise won the Scottish Thistle Award in 2018/19 for the Most Hospitable B&B in the whole of Scotland, after winning in their region in 2016/17. They also won the Scottish Thistle Award for the Best B&B or Guest House Experience in their region for 2022/23 and for 2023/24.

For a unique experience, enjoy an award-winning tour of the farm with the family and learn about their daily lives and those of the animals. Lucy, the micropig welcomes attention or meet Leila, Leona, Lantern, Luxury, Dotty, Claire, Squeak and Squirm some of our mischievous goats. You may even be lucky and see a newborn lamb, kid or calf and maybe enjoy the magical experience of feeding the lambs. See the Highland cows and try walking the Alpacas. These farm tours were named the Best Outdoor/ Adventure Experience in the 2018/19 Scottish Thistle Awards for the Central, Fife and Tayside Region and were nominated as finalists in 2022/23. The Cart Shed is the new food experience area where you can learn about the farm's produce, before enjoying a warming cup of homemade soup with a bridie (a unique version of a local pasty), followed by a farmhouse scone, butter & homemade jam or Kingennie Honey.

Location

The position close to the A90 makes this B&B perfect for touring the Angus Glens and surrounding coastline including the Angus Coastal Path, Montrose (8 miles) and Carnoustie with its famous golf course (8 miles). The City of Dundee with its many museums is only 7 miles away. Historic attractions include Glamis Castle (8 miles), Arbroath Signal Tower museum (12 miles) and J.M. Barrie's birthplace in Kirriemuir (9 miles). Just 30 minutes from St Andrews and Perth.
