Scotland’s Best B&Bs is a self help marketing organisation which has been providing quality holiday accommodation in Scotland since 1996. It is the only pan-Scotland organisation for B&Bs and has an excellent geographic spread across the country.
We are currently inviting new members for 2018. If you think you have a B&B that could be one of Scotland's Best B&Bs, please get in touch with us
Currently, membership numbers are capped at 96 and all the establishments are either 4 or 5 star rated by VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance Scheme with a 78% minimum entry level for the 4 star rating. A preference is given to new areas to complement the good geographic spread of members’ B&Bs as well as filling the positions of retiring members.
The management of the organisation is by a small committee of volunteer members who make budget decisions, advertising policy and recommendations to the members at an AGM held each year in November. Held centrally, the AGM has been held near Scone in Perthshire for the last two years..
There is an annual subscription which provides all the revenue for Scotland’s Best B&Bs and this enables the committee to manage an excellent brochure; an advertising budget; the new website and the all-day AGM.
Have you stayed in an exceptional Scottish B&B?
We are always interested to hear about special B&Bs that might be perfect additions to Scotland's Best B&Bs. If you have visited Scotland recently (in the last year) and stayed in a B&B that you think might be one of the best in Scotland, we would love to hear from you. Just let us know where you stayed and when you visited and why you think they might be one of the best in Scotland. Remember we can only consider Visit Scotland 4 and 5 Star Graded properties at this time. We thank you in advance for your nominations.

Within a year of opening my home to guests, I joined SBB&Bs I've learned to make my own marmalade, inspired to keep hens and gained tips for photography that I've used on my website. There's a wealth of knowledge just a message or a call away. When I hear a 'wow' from a guest, it's often from a tiny element that I've gleaned from another member. They keep me abreast too of the fire regulations, licensing, and food allergy laws.
