2021 is designated as the Year of Scotland’s Coast and Waters with lots of special events on this theme.
Traditional Highland Games are usually held all over Scotland throughout the summer months from the small village events to the huge and historic Highland Games like the Lonach and Braemar Gatherings where famous celebrities watch the march of the Lonach men or the Queen and her family at Braemar. They all have opportunities for all the family to join in the fun. We look forward to the Games resuming in 2022.

When visiting Scotland, you can often come across local farmers’ markets in many towns throughout the year. The Royal Highland Show near Edinburgh or the local agricultural shows like Turriff in Aberdeenshire are held during the summer months with displays of cattle, sheep and horses.
There is something for everyone with food and whisky festivals; music events; art exhibitions; walking festivals and the enjoyment of traditional languages like the Gaelic Mod every October.
