Events for the Arbroath 2020 Festival to mark the 700th Anniversary of The Declaration of Arbroath in 1320 have been postponed to 2021. This document sowed the seeds for the first ideas of democracy in this historic town in Angus on the north east coast of Scotland.

Please be advised that due to the current Covid-19 situation, many events for 2020 will now be cancelled or rescheduled. Please check with individual event organisers.

King of The Sevens
April - May, Borders
The game of rugby sevens was conceived in the Scottish Borders town of Melrose in 1883. The Kings of The Sevens series features matches at Kelso, Selkirk, Melrose, Hawick, Berwick, Langholm, Peebles, Gala, Earlston and Jedforest.

Edinburgh Science Festival

Annual International Science Festival, founded in 1989. For 2019 the theme is Frontiers.

Arbroath 2020 Festival 4 April 2020
Marking the 700th Anniversary of The Declaration of Arbroath in 1320. The festival open with a concert at Arbroath Abbey for the world premiere of ‘Of Light Breaking’.

Arbroath 2020 Festival 5 April 2020
Arbroath 2020 Procession from Arbroath Abbey along the Golden Mile to the Harbour for a ceremonial reading of the 1320 Declaration as well as a rendition of the new 2020 declaration made by local school children. Followed by The Big Eco Lunch at Beacon Green.
