Glengarry B&B occupies an elevated position in the village of Kingussie near Aviemore. Inverness lies to the north and the popular town of Pitlochry to the south. The surrounding Cairngorms National Park covers a huge area including Aviemore and Braemar.
The house is an elegant Victorian Villa built in 1898, set in peaceful grounds with private parking. Your hosts have been welcoming visitors to their home since 1998. Enjoy tea, coffee and home baking on arrival in the guest's sitting room, garden or in your bedroom if you prefer. Choose from 4 ensuite rooms offering double, twin or single sleeping arrangements, all tastefully furnished and complete with hospitality tray, TV, hairdryer, fresh flowers, toiletries and fluffy towels.
Delicious breakfasts are served in the elegant Dining Room with bone Wedgwood china and Edinburgh crystal glasses. Janet makes her own bread, muffins, pancakes and waffles. You can also sample seasonal fruit from the garden. Freshly cooked options include meat and fish from local suppliers including smoked salmon, mackerel and kippers. Guests are welcome to sit in the garden and summer house to admire Janet's bonsai collection. You may even spot a red squirrel or two!
Glengarry B&B provides the perfect all-year round base to experience wildlife, watersports, walking, golf, skiing or just relax. Lockable storage and workshop for cycles. Venture into the surrounding mountains and bag a Munro or two, or visit one of the Highlands many castles and distilleries. Ballindalloch, Brodie, Blair, Cawdor and Urquhart are just some of the historic castles which you can easily reach by car. The nearby Highland Folk Museum and the Highland Wildlife Park are some of the main attractions. You can also visit the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd or take a steam train on the Strathspey Railway. There are numerous places where you can eat out in the vicinity. Glengarry B&B is 12 miles south of Aviemore.
If you are heading for the North Coast 500, Glengarry is an ideal place to rest before you embark on the route. There's also the North East 250 - Scotland's newest driving route through Speyside, the Cairngorms and Royal Deeside to the east coast.
