Scotland's Best B&B's is a small marketing organisation consisting of 96 Bed & Breakfasts all of whom have attained the Four or Five Star rating through the VisitScotland's Quality Assurance scheme. You are able to book a stay at individual members either by online booking (if available) or via telephone or e-mail. You can also click on the Make an Enquiry button on each member's page to fill in an enquiry form. Each member’s listing also has a link to their own web site where you will find more information about booking policies.

Acceptance of Credit or Debit Cards is the choice for each individual member as there is a charge for using credit cards by the bank. Those members who do accept card payment will have this clearly indicated by a symbol on their own web page, which can be accessed from their listing

A twin room is a room with two single beds. Often these single beds can be put together to make a large double bed, if requested at the time of booking.

A room that has en-suite facility will have a toilet and shower/bath facilities within your bedroom.

Some of Scotland’s Best B&Bs members offer their guest evening meals. Most members will be only too happy to recommend a good place to eat close by and will often book a reservation for you.

Scotland’s Best B&Bs businesses are small with limited or no staff except for the member. Saying goodbye to the last guests and preparing the room(s) for you and getting in provisions for breakfast means that it is best to arrive after 4pm and before 6pm. Outside of these times, it is best to make contact with the B&B to say that you may be earlier or later.

There are two designated National Parks in Scotland - The Cairngorms National Park and the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. They are designated by the Scottish Government as special areas of national interest for conservation, biodiversity and for the enjoyment for all. They are internationally important and contain some of Scotland's most dramatic scenery as well as 25% of all the endangered species in the UK.

There are two Geoparks in Scotland - one is the North West Highlands and one is in Lochaber. A Geopark is an area with an outstanding geological heritage and a strategy to promote economic development through sustainable tourism. A geopark must contain several geological or geomorphological sites of national and international importance. A geopark can include not only sites of geological importance, but also sites of archaeological, ecological, historical or cultural interest.
